Questions
How much tax do I pay on $100,000 in Australia?
In 2026–27 a resident earning $100,000 pays $20,520 income tax plus $2,000 Medicare levy, leaving $77,480 a year ($2,980 a fortnight).
Does this include the low income tax offset?
Yes. The low income tax offset (up to $700) is applied automatically and can reduce your tax to zero, but not below.
Is super taken out of my pay?
No. Your employer pays super guarantee (12% in 2026–27) on top of your salary. If your package is quoted "including super", tick that box and the calculator splits it out first.
Why is my payslip slightly different?
Employers withhold tax using ATO withholding schedules, which round per pay period. Your final tax is settled when you lodge your return; this calculator shows the annual result.
What changed on 1 July 2026?
The 16% rate on income between $18,201 and $45,000 fell to 15%. Everyone earning over $45,000 pays $268 less tax a year than in 2025–26.
